Panama City Beach Fishing Guides proudly provides 5 distinctly different fishing experiences for our guest. Whether you’re wanting to beat the heat by dock light fishing at night or pick a fight with giant mahi-mahi in the wee hours of the morning, PCBFG is here to help.
With our home port being located in St. Andrews Bay, you are literally minutes away from all the action. St. Andrews, North & West Bay, as well as Grand Lagoon, are all connected and fed by multiple creeks & rivers. This inshore ecosystem is teaming with redfish & speckled trout year round. While this area is known throughout the south-east as one of the premier inshore destinations during the spring & summer the winter months should not be overlooked. Cooler waters bring in a considerable amount of sheepshead & flounder during the winter months.
Because the bays and lagoons of Panama City Beach are somewhat protected from high winds and the occasional summer storm these waters remain relatively calm. We do suggest the inshore trips as a great option for first-time saltwater fisherman & families.
With the bays and lagoons of Panama City Beach serving as host to some of the premier waterfront real estate in North Florida, it should be no surprise that these waters are home to 100’s of dock lights designed to attract monster redfish & speckled trout. Fishing dock lights allow you to beat the summer heat as these dock lights trips begin as the sun goes down thus creating an excellent opportunity for those vacationers who want to go fishing but don’t wish to wake up early on their vacation (Popular Among Couples). With fewer boats on the water, our dock lights fishing trips can serve a unique way to see the beautiful Inshore waters of Panama City Beach.
Near Shore Fishing
It’s a common miss conceived notion that anglers have to travel long distances into the Gulf of Mexico before they can catch the big boys. The nearshore waters off the Panama City Beaches are home to a wide variety of sportfishing targets. When trolling one can expect to encounter Sailfish, Maha Mahi, Cobia & Mackerel. Bottom fishing provides anglers with an opportunity to fight various types of Grouper, Snapper & Amberjack. It’s not uncommon to hook into a monster shark while fishing in the Gulf. Because these nearshore trips may take you up to 9 miles offshore there is a 6hr. Min for these excursions. Nearshore trips are by far our most popular request during red snapper season so if your interested book early!
There is a reason why everyone wants to catch Jaws. Simply put sharks fight hard. These apex predators are especially numerous along the beaches and in the bays. The Best time to target these beasts is from late March to early October. Our guest hook into Lemon, Bonnett head & black tip we most often catch bull sharks. These are like giant 250lb curious catfish with rows of razor-sharp teeth. Shark fishing can provide experienced anglers with a memorable fight or give families a day the young ones will never forget.
